Christy Hyonsuk is a mixed-media abstract artist inspired by childhood summers on Jeju Island. Using acrylics, she captures memory, belonging, and heritage, bringing Jeju’s beauty to canvas.

I paint to remember, translate, and feel—layers and details like dream fragments, blurring past and present.

Artist Bio

Jeju Island is largest island between South Korea and Japan. The island is known for its tangerines, volcanic landscapes and beaches, and its status as a Special Self-Governing Province.
Many of the residents speak the Korean language since it is taught in schools. Jeju Island has its own dialect that has been fading the last 100 years.
You should visit Jeju Island to try delicious Jeju tangerines, see volcanic landscapes and caves, waterfalls, and experience the unique culture and food - like the sea woman ‘haenyeo’ and Jeju belt fish.
